Beaufort

A beautiful relic of the Old South, Beaufort is known for its historic architecture and small-town feel. Located on Port Royal Island, it is the second-oldest city in South Carolina. Beaufort’s attractions include the Beaufort Arsenal, the Cypress Wetlands, the Reconstruction Era National Historical Park, and much more, including dozens of antebellum mansions.

The drive from Charleston to Beaufort is a little under an hour and a half, making it the ideal distance for a day trip.

Kiawah Island
